Are you everyone’s personal adviser, personal confidant or even personal counsellor? Are you valued for your common sense, practical advice and help? That is amazing. BUT if you are to be the most effective ‘helper’ you must learn to put yourself first. Put yourself first without feeling selfish. Put yourself first without feeling guilty. Putting yourself first is taking self care to maintain your own health and well being. By prioritizing yourself first you will be able to develop the calm, clear thinking you need to be someone’s personal confidant, personal adviser or even personal counsellor. You also need to set boundaries. You must remember you cannot be all things to all people.
